IVÁN DÍAZ, who already has ten years of experience working in Filmax’s International Division, is to become the new Head of International Division, replacing Vicente Canales, director of the division for the last three years.
FILMAX is one of the main independent Spanish groups producing films and providing audiovisual content. Since its creation almost fifteen years ago, FILMAX INTERNATIONAL has offered a consistently high level of titles in both English and Spanish, all of which stand out for their quality and variety.
Current slate of films includes three recently completed titles: KIDNAPPED by Miguel Ángel Vivas, EXORCISMUS by Manuel Carballo and AGNOSIA by Eugenio Mira; three films in post-production: SLEEP TIGHT by Jaume Balagueró, VERBO by Eduardo Chapero Jackson and YELLOW by Xavi Giménez and two more titles in pre-production: [REC] Genesis by Paco Plaza and [REC] Apocalypse also by Jaume Balagueró. New titles will be announced in Berlin.
IVÁN DÍAZ will be joined by EVA GUTIÉRREZ and IRENE AIROLDI, who will take up new posts as sales executives, LAURA FERNÁNDEZ, who will be in charge of international marketing and CRISTINA CARRO and KATE MOORE, who will continue working in distribution services and festivals respectively.
Iván Díaz is enthusiastic about his new role: “This is a new challenge for me, but I take it on with confidence, knowing that I have a great team behind me who have been working together for many years. We have good products and good clients. Our objective is to carry on working as well as we have been up to now.”
Carles Rojano, Managing Director of Business & Affairs, speaks favourably of the International Division’s new director: “Iván Díaz is a real professional who has a clear vision of the international market. We have nothing but confidence in his management skills and in the great team of professionals that make up Filmax International.”
Carlos Fernández, CEO, adds: “In Filmax we are fully supportive of this change. Iván Díaz has an impeccable history within Filmax and it is always a pleasure for us to see people like him coming up through the ranks. We know that human talent is our greatest resource and we take good care of it at all levels: from top directors to screenwriters, executive producers, directors of photography, marketing and sales executives… Filmax is a great human team.” |
